An Introduction to First Book: Resources & Partnerships to Support Kids in Need

This session will introduce Michigan Afterschool Association Members to First Book, the nonprofit social enterprise focused on removing the barriers to learning for kids in need. First Book provides educators, program staff, and paraprofessionals with brand-new, high-quality books, educational resources, and other essentials to help promote learning growth, social-emotional development, and student well-being. Participants will learn about the free and low-cost resources that First Book offers, with a focus on resources to support out-of-school-time programs. Participants will also learn how they can add their voices to the First Book Network, partner with First Book to gain access to funded opportunities, and how they can connect their communities with First Book to ensure ongoing access to all the resources First Book makes available. There will be time during the presentation for questions and answers.
