A school-age youth development professional is an extraordinary individual who helps to guide youth to master skills, develop relationships, grow in independence, and move to new levels of thinking and understanding about themselves and the world. The Michigan School-Age Youth Development (MiSAYD) Certificate, Credential and the Core Knowledge and Competencies support quality programs for school-age youth by providing standards for training and evaluation.
The Certificate and Credential programs represent the combined efforts of representatives from school-age and youth groups across Michigan to define competencies for youth development professionals in our state. The programs align with National AfterSchool Association Core Knowledge and Competencies for AfterSchool and Youth Development Professionals.
Applying for the Michigan School-Age Youth Development Certificate is a commitment to professionalism in the out-of-school time field. Working toward the certificate can be a rewarding experience. It offers candidates opportunities to:

MISAYD Youth Development Credential & Certificate Online Learning Program Online Learning Program Details:
The Youth Development Credential and Youth Development Certificate are both online learning programs as well as learning portfolio management tools. As a candidate, you will create an account of your own, you will take courses online. You can upload ANY other certificate or credentials that you have obtained through for online or in person training to manage your entire portfolio of youth development training, and you can report these to state licensing agencies* upon completion.
