Leadership Symposium

The purpose of the Michigan Afterschool Association (MAA) Leadership Symposium is to equip leaders at all levels to create out-of-school time (OST) policies, programs, and practices that enable youth to reach their full potential. The Leadership Symposium will draw over 350 youth development professionals from across the state of Michigan.  The conference will be held Friday, November 9, at the Westin Hotel in Southfield, Michigan.

The conference theme is “Take the Lead in the OST.” MAA would like presenters to focus on how leaders from different levels…front-line staff, Site Coordinators, Directors, and youth…can work together to create high quality learning environments that meet the needs of all youth.  MAA understands that the out-of-school time sector must provide different types of supports to different youth…urban, rural, suburban…for example, in order to ensure all youth are successful in school and in life.
